ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The Author was born on a small farm in Mississippi. He earned a B. A. from Millsaps College as well as a B. D. and a MDiv. from Vanderbilt Divinity School. He also served as a student pastor during five of those years. In 1963, he and twenty-seven other Methodist pastors publicly declared opposition to segregation. Due to that, he was threatened, harassed, denied a pastoral appointment and forced to leave the state. For his efforts to end segregation, he was selected to “Who’s Who in American Methodism.”
His ministry includes fifteen years as a pastor, five years as a V. A. Chaplain and twenty-three Years as an Air Force Chaplain, retiring as a Lt. Col. He is also a certified counselor for alcohol and drug addiction. He published two other books and now lives with his wife of sixty-four years in Georgetown, TX.
